Your role
You will provide internal audit services to our clients on both a co-source and an outsource basis, and advise our clients in areas such as audit methodology, agile audit delivery and functional transformation. In addition, you will have the opportunity to deliver External Quality Assessments as well as ongoing quality assurance support at large and high profile clients.
Due to the ongoing focus of regulators and other stakeholders on robust internal controls, many of our clients are asking for support as they design and embed enhanced governance and control frameworks. This offers our internal audit practitioners exciting opportunities to work on a wide range of controls advisory projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively participating in and managing the delivery of high class internal audit and controls advisory services to a range of clients within the Financial Services sector;
  • Leading project teams and developing junior team members to reach their potential;
  • Regularly using a range of internal audit methodologies and approaches, including advanced techniques such as Data Analytics and Agile Internal Audit;
  • Managing client relationships and working with client staff;
  • Developing internal audit and controls advisory opportunities with new and existing clients;
  • Building relationships with experts across Deloitte to deliver client focused assurance solutions;
  • Working with our clients on implementing or reviewing aspects of their processes;
  • Applying your financial services experience to practical business scenarios; and
  • Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

Location:
You will be based in a Deloitte Leeds office, however travel will be required for client based projects. We work across industry specialisms â€" our clients are varied, and vary in location. Whilst some clients are Leeds based, we do spend time on site with regional clients. We specify full mobility for our audit roles but we make arrangements respectfully.

Your professional experience
To qualify for the role you must:
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and can work on your own initiative.
  • Have Financial Services experience, either as part of a Financial Services Institution or in an audit, advisory or business consulting capacity in:
oInvestment Management and/ or
oStock broking
  • Have an excellent academic track record. Graduates with a professional accounting qualification (or working towards a professional qualification) are our preferred candidates but we will consider all candidates that have very strong and proven CASS technical skills.
  • Significant relevant consulting, risk management or business expertise within an investment manager or stock broker.
  • Good knowledge of the wider financial services industry, and the regulatory environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand regulation and apply it to different business scenarios.
  • Be a CASS specialist already or have some knowledge and a keen desire to develop this into a specialist skill set.
Aptitude for development of the following skills would also be essential:
  • Engagement/Project management in financial services institutions
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work under own initiative and in many different and challenging environments.
  • Strong team building skills
  • Strong presentation, business writing and professional standards
  • Ability to identify sales opportunities and progress in conjunction with other team members.
  • Proven delivery in sales negotiation and conclusion.

A good working knowledge of key aspects of the CASS sourcebook. The successful applicant will have a strong technical knowledge in the following areas:

Client Assets
  • A good working knowledge of key aspects of the CASS sourcebook.
  • An understanding of the changes introduced through PS14/9

Financial Services Regulation
  • A good understanding of the key aspects of financial services regulation in the investment management / stock broking industry.

Personal skills
  • Highly motivated, with a proven ability to work on own initiative within a challenging/dynamic work environment
  • Strong team player with good organisation, planning and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral/written communication & influencing skills
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven track record of delivery
