Trainee Management Accountant position for South West division of market leading construction business

Client Details

My client are a nationally renowned housebuilder operating from a regional office in Exeter. They are FTSE 250 listed and employ well over 5000 people.

For this position we are seeking a bright, high-potential trainee management accountant with experience in an accountancy practice, who has strong accounts preparation and review experience.

Description

• Performing month end reconciliations and providing accounts analysis
• Assisting with the internal and external audits
• Bank reconciliations on a weekly basis
• Reconciliation of inter-company balances on a monthly basis
• Preparation of monthly VAT returns with assistance
• Preparation and input of journals, prepayments and accruals
• Compliance with GDPR/AML and safeguarding company assets
• Assisting in weekly and monthly reporting to Group
• Any other finance duties as directed & required

Profile

**Currently the client is only considering candidates from an accountancy practice background**

Ideally you will meet the following criteria:

• AAT qualified/nearly-qualified
• Keen to pursue further CIMA studies
• Good Excel skills
• Have strong inter-personal skills to enable effective communication at all levels
• Strong written communication skills
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Forward thinking with regards to ideas and efficiencies that can be made
• Eagerness to learn and with a can-do attitude
• Able to produce information accurately and to the stipulated deadlines
• Ability to work well in a team

• Attention to detail

Job Offer

This role will pay a basic salary of £20-25,000
