We are now looking for an international tax specialist to join our existing team in Kuala Lumpur.

Responsibilities

As an International Tax Manager, you will be part of a team of with extensive experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide expert and strategic advice on corporate income tax, business taxes, indirect taxes, and stamp duty issues encountered by clients.
  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients while reporting to the Head of Tax.
  • To undertake research and opinion writing on a variety of domestic and international tax matters and reports for multinational companies.
  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges and offer proactive advice on possible tax issues.
  • Able to advise on tax implications of restructuring and conduct tax due diligence.
  • Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, tax authorities, external tax advisors, public authority, etc.), and building relationship with external parties.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities with the aim to get new engagements.
  • Keep abreast of technical developments and solutions.
  • Keep up to date with the latest business and current affairs.
  • Participating in establishing and implementing training programs.
Requirements
  • A degree in Accounting / Finance or any other business related discipline and ideally an accounting or tax professional qualification (e.g. CPA, CTA, ADIR, CIA, ATT, ACCA or similar qualifications).
  • The position requires a confident and experienced person with sound knowledge in a broad range of tax issues with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Prior work experience with a Big 4 firm would be an added advantage.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Able to make clear recommendations based on a sound assessment of advice and information gathered.
  • Able to provide independent advice (orally and in writing) to senior level management on highly technical matter.
  • Strong presentation, communication and research skills with an excellent command of verbal and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
