We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Country Governance and Standards Manager.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide administrative support and ad-hoc requests as required with planning and execution against strategy and goals, including research and scenario planning
  • Develop long term business and financial plans for CRE Head of Country
  • Manage the impact of the implementation of the CRE Strategy on the CRE Head's area of responsibility
  • Build and maintain a strong and professional working relationship with executive and senior management of HSBC Operating Services and Technologies (HOST), Finance, IT, CRE, Audit, Security, Insurance, Operational Risk at regional & group levels.
  • Ensure implementation of CRE Target Operating Model including enforcement of structures and headcount targets
  • Handle people issues, emerging quality and processes

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Past working experience in a relevant role
  • A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
  • Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
  • Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results

The base location for this role is Birmingham.

We are required by the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 to create a ring-fenced bank in the UK by 1 January 2019. Entirely new from the ground up, HSBC UK's head office is opening in Birmingham. The location of this role will move to our new state of the art offices at 2 Arena Central during 2018.
