The Role:
Grant Thornton UAE has experienced continued growth and presence within the regional market. We are now seeking to add to our Dubai team and are therefore seeking a Senior Associate to work within our Assurance department in Dubai.
The Senior Associate will be expected to:
- Apply their knowledge to resolve routine issues and propose solutions to more complex ones
- Lead a small team on delivery of specific projects and assignments
- Delegate effectively to others, oversee outputs and ensure that quality is maintained
- Coach and support other team members in developing their understanding of the straightforward aspects of their discipline and delivering output
- Expand their internal and external network
- Be responsible to train and coach Associates
- Technically, be able to draft financials, control completion documents and identify high risk areas of audit as defined at planning stage
- Understand and utilize Grant Thornton’s Audit Methodology
Competencies:
- Knowledge and ability to use proficiently standard office software’s, including word-processing, databases and spreadsheets
- Well-developed organization and time management skills, and the ability to work on own initiative, accurately to tight deadlines, and to prioritize between conflicting demands
- Ability to coach and develop junior members of the team
- Strong communication and project management skills
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Two to five years of current and/or recent financial statement audit experience within a public accounting firm
- BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university
- Licensed CPA/ICAP/ICAI/ICAEW/ACCA or actively pursuing the qualification
- Exposure to providing audit services to clients across a variety of industries
- Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Auditing Standards (IAS)
- Willingness and ability to travel
