  • POSITION PURPOSE:
    • Develops, analyzes, and executes Vail Clinics operational budget. Manages the organization's budget, prepares all documentation and assists the Diversified Services management. Analyzes and reviews management submissions of the operational and financial proposals to assure they are complete and accurate.

  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    • 1. Assist the Controller and Vail Clinics management with compiling the list of capital requests and preparing ROIs as necessary.

      2. Interface heavily with Accounting and Vail Clinics operations to communicate monthly operational results.

      3.
      Assist Vail Health Controller in consultation with Vail Clinics management in the preparation of month end variance narratives and perform tasks as assigned by the Controller related to month end needs.

      4. Accurately maintain and track physician compensation for multiple physicians, keeping track of physician's performance metrics and how that impacts their overall compensation, in accordance with physician contracts and physician incentive compensation plan. Completes reports in accordance with established deadlines.

      5. Ensure that physician payments are in the amounts and within the timelines specified in accordance with physician contracts and physician incentive compensation plan.

      6. Create/maintain the physician incentive compensation plan template, which incorporates the calculation of various quality, productivity, 360 survey results, and quality/performance metrics.

      7. Maintain and prepare monthly physician reports:

      Volumes, revenues, wRVUs, coding profiles.

      Physician productivity reports.

      8. Work with Patient Financial Services and Vail Clinics management to identify revenue cycle opportunities to improve key performance indicators.

      9. Provide Ad–hoc analysis as requested.

      10. Prepare journal entries to account Vail Clinics late charges entered.

      11. Prepare journal entries for unusual and infrequent expense items.

      12. Track extra shift compensation for hospitalist physicians.

      13. Maintain, update, and prepare journal entries related to physician compensation.

      14. Analyze Vail Clinics contractual adjustments and AR to ensure net revenue is stated appropriately.

      15. Role models the principles of a Just Culture.

      16. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience:
        • Candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field of study.
        • 2 to 5 years of experience in a health care setting required. Financial Analyst experience in either a Hospital or Physician Practice environment preferred.
        • Have a firm understanding of how the flow of data across multiple systems can impact reports.
        • Be able to communicate effectively.
        • Be able to analyze results effectively.
        • Be detail oriented and maintain accuracy.
        • Maintain positive relationships with the operations team and physicians

    • Computer / Typing:
        • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job–specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
        • Excellent Microsoft excel skills: demonstrate an ability to compose pivot tables and complex formulas

    • Education:
        • Candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field of study.
