Group Accountant - Group Financial Control & Reporting

The Role:

A very exciting opportunity has been made available for a Group Accountant to undertake Group Statutory Reporting within one of Australia's most well-known and respected Financial Services Organisations. The role will be responsible for delivering the Group's Statutory Financial Statements, ASX Profit Announcements and related statutory returns including the US 20F and Japanese returns (annual and half year). The team sits in a high performing environment and reports to the senior manager in Group Statutory Reporting.


  • Preparation & review of Inputs to externally reported documents (Statutory Financial Reports, ASX Profit Announcements, Japanese return/ US profit announcements etc), ensuring compliance with accounting, disclosure and legislative & Regulatory requirements.
  • Analytical review of the Group legal entity and the Group's results on a monthly, half yearly & annual basis
  • Address and resolve issues raised in relation to the groups reporting requirements including remediation of issues arising from dry run and half & year end
  • Preparation & review of monthly Finbook, identification and timely resolution of issues arising on a monthly basis.
  • Identify key trends and seek explanation for key movements in balances and transactions
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement to existing reporting process whilst engaging in projects and adhoc analysis

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and CA/CPA Qualified
  • 4 + years' experience in audit with financial services clients OR 5+ years in reporting within a ASX Listed Financial Services business
  • Strong knowledge of group & statutory reporting
  • Solid knowledge of accounting frameworks, accounting standards (IFRS) and Corporations Act requirements as they relate to Legal Entity reporting
  • Good understanding of Financial Services products and services
  • Sound written and oral communication skills and ability to confidently express ideas/findings.
  • Highly motivated & organised with a desire to perform at a high level
