A new opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to work for a large growing charity based in Durham. The role is specifically to support the charity's housing unit. As a registered provider, the team offers housing and property management services to vulnerable people. This is a great role for someone with an interest and previous experience in housing finance.

Key Duties
  • Responsible for the housing service delivery unit, working closely with the housing management team to complete the monthly management accounts pack.
  • Monthly reporting of any variances against budget.
  • Grant applications, including empty homes claims.
  • Monitoring lease agreements.
  • Identifying and implementing any potential changes to the finance housing management system.
  • Developing the role in line with strategic objectives of the unit.
  • Day to day line management of the housing finance assistant.

The person

The successful applicant will possess:
  • Sound knowledge of management accounting and budget setting.
  • An ability to discuss financial issues with both fellow professionals and those with little or no financial background.
  • Previous housing finance experience.

An understanding of the legislation in relation to housing is desirable.
