The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm’s books and records, and by contributing to Firmwide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley’s various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley’s various businesses and its senior management team.
The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization’s financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review.
The Asia Pacific Financial Control Group is seeking a highly self-motivated professional to join as a Business Partner, with primary job responsibilities as follows
- Provide financial insights to senior Technology and Operations senior management, COOs and Business Managers and respond to reporting needs and requests
- Partner with Technology and Operations business partners and finance counterparts on strategy planning, projects and problem resolutions
- Provide accounting and tax guidance
- Support the manpower and project billing and cost tracking (location build outs, data centers, payment processing, work force strategy)
- Support cost allocation and analysis for Business units
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business
- Strong accounting knowledge. Fundamental knowledge of tax will be beneficial
- Knowledge of Technology and Operations expense reporting, project cost tracking, capital expenses and cost allocation principles/methodologies
- Management reporting experience is also essential
- Relevant Technology and Operations support exposure or cost management experience within a fast-paced banking environment will be advantageous
- Require at least 5 years of accounting/finance experience in banking and/or non-banking environment with proven IT Finance or cost management experience
- Excellent team player
- Ability to communicate to and build up relationships with clients and global counterparts
- Strong presentation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure, resilient and consistent high performer
- Proactive thinker, ability to challenge and provide solutions
