The?Financial Analyst?is an exempt position responsible for overseeing accounting, budgeting, regulatory compliance and other finance areas.
Amarillo has a population of nearly 200,000 people. The public schools are outstanding and there are college preparatory and parochial private schools available. The city boasts many cultural activities, including the Amarillo Symphony and Opera, the Lone Star Ballet and a variety of theater groups. Recreational activities are plentiful. Amarillo offers a spectacular botanical garden, numerous art galleries and museums, and outdoor activities, including golf, hiking and biking. The city is located minutes from Palo Duro Canyon State Park, the second largest canyon in the country, and is on Historic Route 66.
Northwest Texas Physician Group is recruiting one Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst:
  • Performs responsibilities consistent with hospital safety policies
  • Assists in the preparation and review of original and correcting journals entries
  • Is able to perform financial analysis
  • Assists in compiling and preparation of hospital budget and analysis
  • Ensures regulatory compliance with state financial requirements
  • Assists in the coordination of audit functions, including State, financial and internal
  • Coordinates filings for Corporate Use, including monthly financials and annual tax
  • Assists and coordinates special projects for all financial areas, as needed
  • Assists in the management of the physical and personnel requirements for accounting
  • Has knowledge of Accounting Policies/Practice of hospital
  • Is aware of and complies with accounting deadlines
  • Has an understanding of reporting structure with Corporate
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and understanding of UHS corporate reporting structure
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the process and identifies expenses that need to be accrued at month end
  • Demonstrates an understanding of accounting records, their use and retention
  • Takes ownership for one?s own actions and decisions
  • Has understanding of the impact of market forces on hospital objectives and direction
  • Cultivates relationships with contacts within and outside of the hospital while promoting cross–departmental collaboration
  • Recognizes one?s own leadership and functional strengths and weaknesses, and managing them accordingly
  • Executes plans in line with the hospital?s vision and mission
  • Solves problems and building solutions that consider hospital–wide implications

  • Makes suggestions/recommendations for improved operations to the department, facility

Job Requirements
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Accounting Supervisor role, preferably in a healthcare environment
