General Description

This position is responsible for providing regulatory advisory support on Bank client related tax matters affecting the Bank.

Main Duties
  • Provide regulatory advisory and guidance on FATCA, CRS, QI, US Withholding Tax and Reporting, International Taxation (e.g., Security/Foreign Transaction Taxes, Stamp Duty), Tax Disclosures Regimes (e.g., EU Tax Disclosures Rules, EOI, etc), Tax evasion and Tax Amnesty.
  • Monitor and assess any tax related legislation changes or consultations impacting the Bank.
  • Draft and disseminate internal broadcasts on tax regulatory changes/updates
  • Updating and disseminating of tax related policy, procedures and FAQs within the purview of tax compliance.
  • Review of BOS' entities FATCA and CRS documents and escalated cases that are beyond the established tax policy and procedure frameworks.
  • Supporting the chairing of the ad-hoc Tax Working Group which includes writing of minutes, coordinating of issues raised, etc.
  • Provide regulatory advisory support and coordination of the various Bank tax-related projects and initiatives.
  • To manage and coordinate the Bank's FATCA, QI and CRS certification and attestation programme.
  • Tabulate and submission of tax-related management reports and other requested information to the relevant committee groups (e.g., PSC, Regulatory and Tax Steering Committee, etc), other Bank departments and OCBC Group
  • Updating of CRS, FATCA and other tax related topic training materials
  • Conducting of classroom trainings on tax related topics within Tax Compliance purview.
  • To act as point of contact and liaison with IRAS, MAS and other regulatory bodies at the direction of the Head of Tax Compliance.
  • To liaise with consultants on tax related matters queries.
  • Management and maintenance of consultant retainer budget, consultant advisory documentation and Tax Compliance intranet information.
  • Other administrative duties include arranging of meetings, producing presentation materials, etc
  • Minimum 4-6 years' relevant experience in providing regulatory advisory within financial institutions preferably with exposure on FATCA, CRS, QI, International Taxation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, determine priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Meticulous and conscientious.
  • Self-motivated personality with the ability to make things happen.
  • Willingness to learn and upgrade new skills and knowledge.
  • Highly organised and structured.

  • University degree in Accountancy, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration or equivalent or higher education;
  • Professional certifications such as ICA, CPA or CA is preferred but not a must.
