Financial Accountant

This role will be responsible for producing timely management accounts for the organisation, working with the rest of the team to ensure accurate financial information for both the charity and its trading subsidiary

Description

Key responsibilities:

• To produce the monthly management accounts including variances and commentary

• To business partner with departments to strengthen links between finance and the operation activities of the entities and to supply analysis and data as required

• To ensure the accurate recording of Revenue and Expenditure

• To ensure the organisation has appropriate financial controls

• To manage the fixed asset process

• To manage the accounting for the charity's Investments including properties, ensuring accurate schedules and controls

• To ensure that the quarterly VAT returns and monthly Gift Aid returns are accurate and timely

• To assist the Head of Finance with the annual budgeting process, statutory accounts and audit process

• To line-manage an Assistant Accountant.

Profile

The successful applicant will possess:

• A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

• Strong communication skills

• Excellent organisational skills

• Strong technical accounting knowledge (SORP)

• Experience of managing a small team
