AMAG is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their Accounting team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in the month end close for our global accounts, prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations, assist with SOX compliance, footnote disclosures and account analysis

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in monthly close process, including preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations

• Participate and prepare materials related to monthly accrual meetings with functional teams

• Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls and compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes–Oxley Act

• Prepare schedules as required for quarterly and annual internal and external audits. Prepare various supporting schedules to support the Company's external reporting requirements

• Responsible for maintenance and reconciliation of fixed asset accounts

• Support Treasury function including preparation of bank reconciliations and wire transfers

• Assist with special requests and ad–hoc projects

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA or MBA a plus
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience in public company preferably pharmaceutical.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
  • Advanced excel skills such as pivot tables and data analysis
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with large ERP systems, Oracle or Oracle Fusion preferred
  • Self–starter with ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with SEC reporting guidelines
  • Ability to work in a fast–paced environment and meet deadlines
