Banking Executive Accountability Regime Compliance Senior Manager

As a Senior Manager within the Finance Operational Risk team, you will be instrumental in reviewing and ensuring ongoing compliance with the CFO Compliance Plan under the Banking Executive Accountability Regime. Our Financial Management Group is a growth business within Macquarie, giving you exposure and access to great leadership and transformational objectives.

Your key areas of responsibility will be having ongoing ownership of the compliance plan and focusing on assurance on compliance, working with the Financial Management Divisions and leveraging assurance completed by the Risk Management team. The Banking Executive Accountability Regime (BEAR) was introduced on 2018 which states that the CFO is an accountable person. In this role, you will constantly ensure ongoing compliance and assurance that key documentation is retained and can be made available upon request.

You will engage with other Macquarie businesses and support group teams to ensure that the Financial Management Group responsibilities are clearly understood across the business within the Financial Management Group and other businesses/support groups as well. You will provide and obtain assurance from other business/support groups whereby the Financial Management Group is a service provider and a recipient of services and provide periodic reporting on effective implementation of the Financial Management Group Compliance Plan. You will also be responsible for keeping up to date on APRA expectations.

To be successful you will have 7+ years' experience in a regulatory compliance role (or similar) within a large financial services organisation. You will have demonstrated experience communicating and engaging with senior level stakeholders on a regular basis and experience liaising with APRA regulators in a past role will be highly advantageous. A compliance professional focused on assurance rather than an advisory role would be suitable for this opportunity. Those with experience in the Big 4 Accounting firms and/or experience in a similar role in a financial services organisation in Australia will be considered for this position.

If you are motivated by the opportunity to work in a high performing team in a fast-paced environment, we would like to hear from you.

The Financial Management Group provides financial, tax and treasury services to all areas of Macquarie. The group is focused on providing strategic analysis and advice to Macquarie's businesses and senior management, managing Macquarie's funding, liquidity and capital position, ensuring Macquarie continues to meet regulatory and compliance obligations and managing Macquarie's corporate communications and investor relations.
