Becoming a Finance Analyst - Financial Assurance with Capita Plc
Capita is the UK's largest business process outsourcing company with 75 000 staff across UK, Europe, India and South Africa.
The Finance Function at Capita has 1,100 FTE (Full Time Equivalents) globally spread across the UK, Europe, South Africa, Poland and India. The Function is undergoing a multi-year transformation of its current operating model as well as technology (deployment of SAP S4 Hana, BPC and Ariba within Finance and Procurement).
As part of this transformation, a Group Financial Assurance function is being created. Capita are now looking to recruit a Finance Analyst- Financial Assurance reporting to the Finance Manager - Financial Assurance.

The Finance Analyst- Financial Assurance - is responsible for the review of legal entity balance sheets, analysing legal entities by profit centre and providing transparency of statutory accounts to Finance Directors and auditors.

About the role
The Finance Analyst- Financial Assurance - is responsible for the review of legal entity balance sheets, analysing legal entities by profit centre and providing transparency of statutory accounts to Finance Directors and auditors.
What you will do:
- Monthly balance sheet reviews:
- Support the preparation of balance sheets for legal entities (production primarily centralised through a shared service in India)
- Review data migrated to S4 Hana to identify impairment risks
- Ensure balances are assigned to correct business owner considering items of highest risk (CFA's, accrued income, deferred income) and transactions not assigned a cost centre
- Review of unallocated balances, prepare commentary on variance year on year and back up evidence prior to posting of journals for statutory account production
- Analysis of legal entities by profit centre, providing transparency to Finance Directors and auditors (including provision of PBC)
- Adherence to proper controls and systems to ensure maintenance of Balance Sheet and compliance with UK and IFRS accounting standards
- Support quarterly analytical review of legal entities with Finance Managers and Finance Directors to ensure subsidiary ownership and comfort with numbers
- Support collation of PBC documentation and resolve queries relating to audits of legal entities
- Support statutory account process improvement, develop an improved more transparent process including process re-design of the statutory accounting process to benefit from the Smarter Faster Finance design
- Collate information and prepare presentations for management, Board and Group level reporting on legal entities including the quarterly analytical review of legal entities to Finance Managers and Directors
Your skills will include:
- Previous experience as an internal auditor having delivered financial audits for major clients
- Ideally recently qualified or studying ACA / ACCA
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and experience preparing UK statutory accounts under IFRS
- Strong understanding of finance process, risks and controls
- Experienced in identifying key finance risks
- Possess knowledge and experience of General Ledger accounting, including balance sheet reconciliations
- Ability to plan and adhere to strict deadlines
- Ability to think ahead and anticipate issues and solutions
- Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with senior members of the Group, divisional teams and auditors
- Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple and concurrent demands
