Cook Children's Strategic Business and Financial Analyst is responsible for reporting and analysis to the leadership and management of the corporate accounting and finance function for a 12–company pediatric health system in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

As the Strategic Business and Financial Analyst, you would be responsible for performing:

* financial, operational, revenue cycle

* statistical analysis in order to drive operational and financial improvement initiatives.

You will develop and disseminate key operational & financial benchmarks. This dissemination of data includes presentations to different stakeholder groups and senior executive leadership and will require strong written and oral communication skills.

You must show initiative and the ability to work independently. Cook Children's expects the Strategic Business and Financial Analyst must be able to lead large projects and be comfortable coordinating and communicating with all levels of the organization. Your will lead the organizations effort to understand and benchmark against the PROSPECT Children's Hospital Association's financial and operational data tool.

You will work closely with Cook Children's Senior Vice President of Finance, and Chief Financial Officer. Our Strategic Business and Financial Analyst must be able to translate highly technical results to both technical and not technical customers. You will need to demonstrate the ability to navigate complex data and be able to consistently validate data for timeliness, reliability, and usefulness. This role is directly responsible for:

* financial accounting (GL / AP)

* financial & management reporting

* treasury

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (or similar) is required.

* Masters' Degree, preferably Masters' of Business Administration (experience in lieu of degree may be considered).

* Minimum of 3–5 years in healthcare experience is required providing key data for decision making.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Analytical ability required to evaluate and interpret financial, statistical, revenue cycle, and operational data in order to make sound and objective recommendations for strategic options.

* Ability to evaluate highly complex performance data and determine if objectives are being met. If not, develop and recommend strategic options to improve stated objectives.

* Working knowledge of financial acumen and ability to recognize operational deficiencies through data and effectively translate/communicate outcomes and value driven opportunities to leadership.

* Understanding of challenges in an integrated healthcare organization including knowledge of operations, legislation, regulatory, and reimbursement.

* Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, SQL

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Requires a fundamental knowledge of software that supports business and should be proficient within 90 days. Examples include, Lawson, Epic, Strata and other data repositories.
