Head of Finance

Morgan Hunt are pleased to be assisting a College based in Bradford with the recruitment of a permanent Head of Finance. Operating in the further education sector this role will be responsible for the management of the finance and procurement operation of the College.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a further education College that is growing and evolving. The Head of Finance and Procurement role will play a pivotal role in managing a medium sized finance and procurment team and will provide the ideal candidate with the opportunity to work with a very experience Vice principal on the shaping of effective processes and contols:

Strategy and planning

Supports and working with the Vice Principal on the finance strategy for the College

Making sure that there are effective controls and processes in place in finance and procurement

Supports and designs a policy strategy

Leading activity to ensure statutory and financial obligations

Finance and Funding

Overseeing the production of management accounts and quarterly financial forecasting

Production of financial statements in line with funding bodies

Monitoring key performance indicators across finance and the College

Leading on the management of financial transactions across the general ledger, banking, receipting and income

Define the finance and procurement budget

Management of the fixed asset register

Ensuring VAT is properly proceed across the College

Person specification

CCAB qualified Accountant

Previous experience of managing a team

Experience of financial budget setting

Previous experience in an education organisation either in further education, Higher education or multi Academy Trust

This is a fantastic opportunity and will work very closely with the Vice Principal of Finance. You will be responsible for the management of the finance function but will also work closely on financial strategy in a Head of Finance capacity.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Head of Finance role preferably in the education sector. CCAB qualified accountant status and previous experience of managing a finance function is essential. The ability to commute to Bradford on a daily basis is essential.
