Financial Accountant

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Part-Qualified accountant to take a step up into this leading telecommunications business as the Financial Accountant. Working from the Duxford site of the business, the Financial Accountant will be responsible the preparation of detailed cash flow forecasts and reports to be shared with the senior operations team to drive business decisions.

Description

The Financial Accountant will have the following duties:

• Preparation and maintenance of daily /weekly Cash Flow statements
• Circulation of weekly Cash Flow Management & Status Reports to the Director of Finance
• Review of daily Production Sales/Costing sheets
• Business partnering with the non-finance functions in the business
• Weekly & Monthly Forecasting for Sales, Profitability, Overheads
• Authorisation of Bank Payments & Receipts and Weekly Bank Reconciliations
• Processing of all weekly and monthly Journals for Payroll, Accruals, Prepayments, Stock movements
• Weekly/Monthly updating and maintenance of Fixed Asset Register & Depreciation Schedule
• Sign off on weekly and monthly Payroll
• Reconciliation of all Balance Sheet Accounts at month end
• Tracking of P&L accounts on a weekly basis to ensure accurate postings
• Tracking and Reporting KPI's relative to the Finance Department
• Revenue & Statutory Submissions

Profile

The successful applicant for the Financial Accountant role will have the following qualities:

• Ability to manage most aspects of month end closing/reporting
• Experience of working to strict deadlines
• Experience of auditing processes and procedures
• CIMA/ACCA Part-Qualified
• A sound understanding and working knowledge of SAP and wider systems
• Experience of a similar role within the telecommunications sector would be advantageous
• Working knowledge of UK regulatory standards, including IFRS
