This sales ledger supervisor is a fantastic opportunity for a senior sales ledger to come in and hit the ground running in a team of about 7 in a community services company in Potters Bar. The company has recently acquired a new company and therefore the workload and teams will be growing and they need someone confident to come in and take charge of supervising the sales ledger team, reporting into the sales ledger manager.

Description

Key responsibilities of the sales ledger supervisor include:

  • Responsible for a team of up to 6 Sales ledgers managing £200 million annual revenue within the group

  • Controlling and managing a small portion of the key ledger within the team

  • Managing a small portfolio of accounts within a key ledger

  • To deputise in the absence of the Sales Ledger Manager

  • Ensuring the Sales Ledger Controllers are chasing invoices by phone or email to reduce the debtor balance and debtor days

  • Resolving escalated invoice and billings issues and referring internally as required for timely resolution

  • Supporting the team with day-to-day duties

  • Ensuring completeness and accuracy of the information being entered on to the sales ledgers

  • Ensuring that customer payments are correctly receipted and applied on a daily basis

  • To assist with the month end process

  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers. Understanding their operations and determining how best to ensure payment terms are met

  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Resolution of unallocated cash balances

  • To train new staff members and ensure they understand their operational role

  • Reducing outstanding debtors balances greater than 60 days to agreed business level

Profile

The successful candidate will come from a credit control/sales ledger supervisor background and will have solid experience in collections and chasing debt whilst maintaining and keeping a ledger up to date. They will ideally have team leader/managerial skills and be confident in leading a group of 6 sales ledger controllers, supporting with day-to-day duties.
