Client Details
Exciting opportunity to work for a section of the University in Oxford! They are looking for a Management Accountant to join there Finance team on a 12 FTC to cover a maternity leave. This post will closely support the Divisional Finance Manager and the Business Partners. The main responsibilities of this role are covering budgeting and forecasting, management accounts and cost analysis.
They do not have parking on site but are walking distance from the train station and accessible by the park and ride.
Description
Management Accountant responsibilities:
- Management Accounts.
- Payroll - Forecast full year staff costs, discussing variances & financial implications.
- Prepare Quarterly forecasts & budgets.
- Coordinates the casual & overtime claims.
- Ensure correct coding of expense claims, credit cards and review to ensure they comply with Regulations.
- Supporting the Divisional Finance Manager in providing financial expertise to other Departments across in the management accounting process.
- Share ideas, thoughts and developments to manage risk and/or improve efficiency.
- Review and process journals for Departments who don't have appropriate Financial access.
Profile
The successful Management Accountant must:
- Have confident Excel skills e.g. ability to create and manipulate pivot tables and set up analysis based on lookup functionality.
- Have experience in preparation and analysis of management accounts including discussions of accounts with line managers and challenging them on variances.
- Demonstrate ability to work in a team, including working to & supporting a variety of different team members.
- Have strong organisational skills with evidence of ability to manage own workload without direction and ensure essential tasks are completed.
- Have evidence of attention to detail (e.g. experience of distributing complex or confidential information without requiring review).
