Senior Finance Business Partner

Home Office

London, Croydon

£80,000 - £100,000

The Home Office is one of the original great Departments of State and has one of the most challenging jobs in government. Its mission is fundamentally important: to keep Britain’s streets safe and its borders secure. Each and every member of Home Office staff plays a part in making that happen.

The Home Office relies on high quality finance management and leadership to deliver on the organisation’s goals. We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner for our UK Visa and Immigration and Her Majesty’s Passport Office portfolio to manage the sizeable income budget of £2bn for UKVI and £0.56bn for HMPO. On top of this Expenditure across includes a paybill of £0.5bn covering circa 13,000 FTE both in the UK and overseas.

We are looking for someone with a relevant Accountant qualification, but this is your leadership and your ability to foster and manage interrelationships between your own team and other areas which will make the difference.

This role will support the organisation in identifying Value for Money savings and challenging the business to maximise efficiency but also in identifying financial risks, putting in place early warning mechanisms and proposing mitigation plans.

You will be a member of the Business Area Senior Management Team and will be expected to build a strong partnership with Senior Managers to support their business performance and delivery plans, aligning financial expertise with business knowledge.

You will report to Richard Hornby, the Director for Finance and Estates.

Should you wish to have an informal discussion about the role please contact Richard Hornby on 020 7035 1605 or richard.hornby@homeoffice.gov.uk

If you have any queries about any aspect of the selection process, please call Sonia Douspis in the SCS Recruitment Team on 07789 396 444 or scsrecruitment@homeoffice.gov.uk

If this is you, please visit our website to apply.

Closing date: 27 June 2019.

The Home Office is committed to a policy of equal opportunity for all staff. We encourage a diverse workforce and aim to provide a working environment where all staff at all levels are valued and respected, and where discrimination, bullying, promotion of negative stereotyping and harassment are not tolerated.
