Internal Audit for the Americas acts as the third line of defense, independently assessing first and second line managements effectiveness in identifying, measuring, monitoring and controlling the risks of the organization. Position summary We are searching for an Audit Director within the Internal Audit for the Americas function with broad banking/financial services experience to provide strategic leadership for the team responsible for the North America Wholesale and Investment Banking (NAWIB) and Global Markets businesses. The position reports to a Managing Director, Division Audit Executive, and is responsible for supporting the development, execution and delivery of the audit plan, internal and external stakeholder management; staff management; issues follow up; and preparation of Audit Committee and Executive Management reporting. The position requires strong, broad knowledge across business divisions and accountability for the quality of resulting audit work product. Qualifications:Fifteen or more years of internal/external audit or risk management experience, including significant management and leadership responsibility with large complex financial institutions.Strong knowledge of corporate lending activities, including loan origination and underwriting; credit analysis; loan servicing; and portfolio management. Strong knowledge of asset based lending and financing activities (e.g., trade finance, project finance, supply chain financing, leasing). Understanding of end to end lending processes including syndication and securitization activities and related rules and regulations. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior leadership, regulators, and staff at all levels.Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write clear, concise, executive level summaries. Critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills. Strong project management experience.Demonstrated ability to lead audit teams and manage an audit plan.Extensive experience with the financial industry and related markets, related regulatory bodies, and current industry events and trends.Deep understanding of risk assessment, audit methodology and audit execution techniques. Ability to perform risk assessments and analyze risk trends at a macro level, identifying signs of changing risk levels and/or symptoms of process control breakdowns.Demonstrated proficiency in technology as required for assigned areas (MS Office, audit data analytics, etc.) Up to 20% travel may be requireThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
