Job Summary:
A reputable, Crawley based MEP operator has an immediate requirement for a Head of Finance to join and lead a small finance team for 6 months, with a strong possibility of an extension.
Reporting to the MD, the Head of Finance will be primarily responsible for the day to day financial control and reporting for this successful international organisation. The Head of Finance will be tasked with developing the finance function, enhancing existing commercial activities whilst assuming complete ownership over both the management accounts and all statutory compliance.
This is an extremely varied role that will suit applicants with previous SME industry experience and a 'hands on’ mentality.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparing accurate monthly management accounts for submission to Group
- Mentoring and coaching a small, established finance team
- Devising both financial and strategic KPIs
- Creating a robust, efficient controllership environment with a particular focus on cost management
- Full end to end responsibility for the audit process
- Ensuring that all statutory and regulatory reporting is completed accurately and on time
- Stringently managing working capital
- Managing long term contracts from a project accounting perspective
- Controlling all month end processes and reconciliations
- VAT preparation/submission
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, with relevant PQE
- Experience of managing/developing teams
- Experience of managing the day to day responsibilities of a finance function
- Previous experience of managing cash flow forecasts
- Extensive experience of working year end audit processes
- Proven ability of partnering the business and managing working relationships with all departments of an organisation
- Strong technical background
- Excellent commercial awareness
- Exceptional IT and Excel skills
- Emotionally intelligent, highly organised, accurate, with strong attention to detail and able to work with minimal supervision
- Flexible and enthusiastic
- Problem solver with a 'can do’ attitude
- Previous working knowledge of SAP - highly desirable
- Long term contract accounting experience - highly desirable
- Adhoc international travel
