TransNational is seeking a new Staff Accountant for a mentorship opportunity within a small team setting. The Staff Accountant is hands on role that will work under the Controller and is responsible for daily cash entries, account reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, and other duties as assigned.

Your day to day:
  • Participate in various accounting functions which include; preparing reconciliations, account variance analysis and investigation, and processing month end journal entries for a variety of G/L accounts
  • Assist in reconciliations within the G/L
  • Participate in intercompany transactions, ensuring proper recording, reconciliation, and settlement of balances
  • Support and assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are executed according to GAAP principles
  • Work with independent auditors to provide support for audited financial statements
  • Manipulate and reconcile large volumes of data in Excel from various internal systems and the general ledger
  • Provide ad–hoc analysis to the team when requested
We'd like to hear from you if you have:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 1+ years' experience in accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education and hands on experience; if you are an aspiring new accountant looking for exposure, lets chat too!
  • Working understanding of GAAP
  • Ability to manipulate and manage large amounts of data
  • Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborative style with the ability to communicate clearly and precisely on technical and operational issues
  • Must be detail and results–oriented with an ability to work in a cross–functional, fast–paced, and constantly evolving environment
  • Ability to evaluate priorities and multi–task accordingly while keeping others apprised of status with respect to deadlines
  • Excellent written and formal presentation skills
