Asia-Pacific Transaction Advisory Centre (APTAC)

The APTAC will play a critical role in enhancing the level of business acumen applied to flagship pursuits within TAS Asia-Pacific, boosting Regions’ go to market efforts in strategic sectors for Asia-Pacific TAS (GPS Infrastructure, Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas and Financial Services) and in strategic solutions such as corporate finance strategy, decision support analytics, turnaround and distressed advisory.

The focus of the APTAC will be to build market leading, sector led deals and capital transformation origination capability for priority sectors. It will be an incubation for emerging services and will house specialist delivery capability.

While the role of the APTAC will be on origination of deals, delivery may be led either within the APTAC for specialist services, or geographically. A key measure of success will be the ability to work with the regions to leverage existing capability across geographies.

The Opportunity

Our Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) team works with clients to manage their capital agenda to drive competitive advantage and increased returns. As part of a global team of 10,000 professionals in 100 countries you will advise clients on preserving, optimizing, raising or investing capital. Major groups (or, as we call them, sub-service lines and competencies) within TAS include Mergers and Acquisition Services, Project Finance, Restructuring Services, Operational Transaction Services, Transaction Support, Transaction Tax, and Valuation and Business Modeling.
Our Project Finance and Infrastructure team advises clients on financial, procurement, strategic and public-private partnerships issues for large-scale infrastructure projects and programs. Join this team and you will help provide support to our clients from the earliest stages of analysis project evaluation to procurement, financial close, construction and operations. You will assist our clients in devising and comparing financial plans and delivery approaches for projects that involve public, federal or private financing; project revenues; and/or grants – and provide support to our clients in their implementation of those plans.

Responsibilities:

Your key responsibilities

As a member of the APTAC Infrastructure team you'll display a high level of technical competency in infrastructure advisory and also experience in business development. You will have strong relationship building, client delivery and engagement management experience for Global top-tier clients and/or on large scale infrastructure projects.

Being a trusted advisor, you'll identify and develop client and market growth opportunities and use your key subject knowledge to contribute to thought leadership for clients.

With a proven track record within a Big Four accountancy firm, an investment bank, a major consultancy practice, a specialist boutique, in industry or in Government you will have significant experience delivering solutions to support large scale infrastructure projects and program.

A key expectation of this role will be to build the firm’s capability to deliver Infrastructure Advisory solutions in South East Asia and China, leveraging capability developed in these or other markets, as well as effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring all levels of staff.

This role will be based in Hong Kong and will report to the APTAC Infrastructure Leader. The successful candidate must also be willing and able to travel, when necessary.

Successful candidates must be committed to staying abreast of cutting-edge industry knowledge and have the ability to quickly anticipate and respond to the issues of a networked and constantly changing global economy.

Requirements:

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Over 2 years of experience in advising government and private sector clients on major infrastructure transactions
  • T echnical knowledge, preferably cross-border, as well as business development capability
  • Sector expertise an advantage e.g. Government, Power & Utilities, Transport, Social Infrastructure
  • Experience in advising government and private sector clients on major infrastructure transactions
  • Deep knowledge and relationships in one or more of the following sectors: Government, Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas, Transportation, Social Infrastructure
  • Business case, procurement methodology and strategy expertise for major infrastructure projects
  • Project finance including financial modelling development and analysis
  • Strong knowledge of International Finance and Accounting concepts and principles as it relates to PPP transaction
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills of English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
