About The Role

Role Type: Full-time permanent opportunity
As the Senior Manager, Corporate Advisory, you are to contribute to the successful growth of ANZ’s Global Corporate Advisory business by supporting the origination and execution of profitable and franchise enhancing M&A transactions and strategic advisory services to natural resources clients (energy, metals, mining and commodities sectors). In particular, you will provides expert support in the areas of financial modelling and financial and industry analysis for the natural resources sector and is an efficient project manager.
You will also support the origination and execution of natural resources M&A transactions with both existing and prospective clients by assisting in the financial structuring and rigorous project and risk assessments of M&A transactions and working collaboratively with peers and other Relationship and Product teams across the bank so as to maximise the M&A team’s origination and execution success.
About You
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Bachelors' degree in a relevant field (i.e. Finance, Commerce, Law, Engineering) from a leading university; MBA is not required but would be highly regarded.
- Strong experience in Investment Banking, Capital Markets or a Corporate Finance related role. Experience in M&A is preferred, but will consider banking experience in an industry coverage group, private equity or similar field.
- Strong financial modelling/valuation and analytical skills, including DCF (discounted cash flows), LBO (leveraged buyouts), EPS (earnings per share), trading comps, precedent transactions, accretion/dilution, value creation analysis, three-statement models and combined pro forma model.
- Experience/Sector knowledge and an interest in the natural resources sector is highly desirable. Good knowledge of corporate finance and accounting, as well as understanding of legal and tax aspects related to M&A transactions.
- Experience in managing the day to day execution and knowledge of the different types of M&A processes (sell-side, buy-side, structured transactions, fairness opinions).
