Senior Finance Analyst - Planning & Analysis VPJob Description:Corporate Title: Vice PresidentLocation: LondonLine of Business: The Chief Financial Office GroupThe Financial Planning & Analysis team (FP&A) is part of the Chief Financial Office (CFO). The team works across all lines of business within the region with offshore support from India. The team’s key responsibilities include:Reporting, analysing and communicating the regional and legal entity performance to senior mgmt and external partiesPresentations and key materials for external stakeholders to support strategic priorities, including regulatorsExecutive Support, working across businesses and support functions and with the regional and legal entity executive teamStrategic/Ad-Hoc Projects: Identifying new opportunities and supporting major cross-LOB projects & initiativesMarket & Competitor Insight: Global benchmarking and producing strategic insights for senior leadership to drive prioritiesThe role is highly varied and challenging and will involve working across all team responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking a lead role working directly with key stakeholders, including providing executive support for local legal entity and regional senior management and generating insightful analysis. The role covers critical weekly, monthly and quarterly financial performance reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.Team responsibilities include:Regional and Legal Entity Performance Analysis and Executive Support: Ad-hoc analysis, presentations and briefings for senior management for internal and external audiencesRegional and legal entity performance analysis and insight for executives and key regulatorsCountry performance analysis for senior management and country leadership teamsPresentations for external parties on regional and key legal entity performance and associated briefing materialsLegal Entity and Regional Strategy and PlanningCommunication of the regional and key legal entity strategy to local regulators, working across businesses and support functions and with the regional executive teamSupport for major cross-line of business projects and initiatives within the region and legal entitySupport for Country Strategic Reviews, working with local offices to produce plans for senior managementMarket and Competitor Insight:Competitor performance analysis including benchmarkingConsolidated analysis of peer group performance, including strategic insights for senior leadership to drive prioritiesMonitor news flow / market developments / analyst reports to provide updates and insights to senior managementShort Term Objectives:Build strong working relationships with Lines of Business and across the CFO, COO and Risk functionsDevelop a deep understanding of the composition and structure of the EMEA franchise and key prioritiesGain a broad knowledge of the product suite and solid understanding of revenue and expense driversLong-Term Development Objectives:Become a go-to resource for impactful analysis and insight into performance and financials plansSpearheading strategic projects, efficiency improvements, MI enhancements and ad-hoc requests for senior management and the wider CFO teamGenerate proactive analysis and insight to drive strategic discussion and priorities with senior managementQualifications:Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified) with strong accounting skills and an eye for detail Essential Skills:FP&A experience, including designing reports and generating analysisA high degree of numerical, verbal and analytical abilityFinancial reporting and modelling skills including the ability to build well-controlled spreadsheets and source appropriate and meaningful dataPresentation skills: ability to present key messages, recommendations and information in a clear and insightful way (expert user of PowerPoint to external presentation standard)Interpersonal and communication skills: ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally and to feel comfortable delivering financial analysis, insights and recommendations to senior individualsKnowledge of and interest in the investment banking industry and an understanding of key trends and performance driversAbout Bank of America Merrill Lynch Bank of America is one of the world's leading financial institutions, serving individual consumers, small- and middle-market businesses, large corporations and governments with a full range of financial and risk management products and services.
