Overall Job Purpose:
• Work with CFS Risk & Prevention team to develop, deploy AML data driven solutions to improve AML risk management processes.
• Support regular and adhoc reporting requests from the AML team.
• Support development, execution and refinement of automated systems to identify and validate Suspicious AML Transactions.
• Provide thought leadership to AML team so they can visualize how data led techniques - such as machine learning - could significantly change the way that Compliance Operates.
• Be the GCAD expert on AML related data matters.

Roles & Responsibilities: Develop Data Driven Solutions to improve AML efficiency
Support the CFS Compliance team with AML analytics support to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department. This includes:
o Support regular and adhoc reporting for AML team, Ops Risk & other compliance teams around areas such as customer onboarding, customer transacting patterns, PDPA statistics and product/channel related statistics.
o Development of an automated system to identify and validate potentially Suspicious Transactions based on past customer behaviour. This can be done on an ongoing daily basis - as well as responding to periodic or adhoc requests.
o Design and develop an automated system to identify customer transaction patterns to enable the bank to have an early detection mechanism to filter alerts which may be unusual for validation. Complement the current MANTAS transactions to detect unknow unknowns
o Act as a thought leader for Compliance related analytics. Demonstrate how advanced analytics techniques - such as machine learning - could move Compliance beyond hardcoded rules type monitoring.
o Regular interaction with compliance teams to understand their business challenges. Proactive recommendation on how you think analytics could help them achieve their goals.


Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Competencies):
General Knowledge & Experience:
o Experience with data analytics in the AML field preferred
o Understanding of the role of analytical marketers
o Exposure to data management and analysis functions
Programming & Data:
o Exposure to database or analytical marketing functions.
o Some prior exposure to analytical software tools of leading analytical software tools (such as SAS / SPSS / R / Spark); leading database environments (Oracle / Teradata / Hadoop / SQL); reporting tools (Qlikview / Tableau / Cognos) and/or contact management platforms (Siebel / Pega).
o Ability to analyze, identify, visualize and describe key trends within large datasets
o Machine learning, statistical modeling, visualization
Communication & Soft Skills:
o Curiosity & a real passion for understanding "why?"
o Creativity to see possibilities within the data & translate into decisions and actions for non-technical business users.
o Ability to visualise patterns arising out of data analysis and turn these into compelling stories.
