Reporting directly to the National Manager, Retail Lending, you will take on state leadership accountability for one of our key Macquarie Leasing Lending teams.

You will manage a large team (three direct reports and up to 40 indirect reports) consisting of Credit Managers, Team Leaders and Credit Analysts with a focus on Consumer Lending, Commercial Lending and Novated Lending. Your role will include the overall management of the Sydney credit team, ensuring SLA's are met, monitoring and driving staff individual performance (through your direct reports) and ensuring KPI's are met.

You will pro-actively take ownership of managing internal relationships with colleagues in Sales, Credit, Risk Management, Legal and Operations, and look after the day to day management of local HR and personnel matters.

Through building and maintaining a strong working relationship with your interstate counterpart, you will strive to achieve close consistency in culture, credit appetite, compliance and processes/procedures. You will hold a credit delegation and approve deals outside of the Managers delegations as well as managing deal escalations.

Other aspects of the role will include; promoting a strong risk management culture through accountability for the credit origination quality and operational risk outcomes, overseeing the Branch's performance management framework, including regular and supporting feedback, coaching and professional/technical training.

To be considered for this role you will be an experienced and effective leader. Other attributes required for this role include extensive experience managing large teams within a Commercial Banking or Asset Finance related division and demonstrated experience implementing process improvement strategies within a large team.

Other preferred skills will include extensive credit risk management experience and extensive NCCP Responsible lending knowledge and experience.

You will have a successful track record in developing others through guidance, feedback and mentoring, and prior experience in the use of KPI's within a regulated environment. Proven influencing and negotiation skills, and presentation skills are also a must.
