My client is looking to recruit a Group Accountant / Assistant Controller to support their growing business.
They are looking to recruit a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to join their finance team. The finance team is responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual group and statutory reporting and for ensuring the control environment is robust. The candidate will have experience of financial accounting and group reporting situations.
Knowledge and Experience of:
Proficiency with double-entry bookkeeping is essential
Extensive knowledge and experience of accounting under FRS102 is essential
Working knowledge of USGAAP is desirable
Experience of Microsoft Navision and/or SAGE an advantage
Must be proficient in Excel; competency with Pivot tables an advantage
Ability to critically review internal control environment and identify improvements
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Group reporting
Working alongside the Group Financial Controller to prepare, review and submit monthly group reporting forms (by Business Day 4)
Carry out post-submission checks and balance sheet reconciliations
Update and review of Pro Lease database
Respond to enquiries from our Parent company
Monthly accounting
Prepare monthly journals and other accounting entries for main UK trading company
Maintain airtime spreadsheet and prepare analysis of airtime costs and revenues
Prepare overhead and turnover analysis schedules
Prepare management accounts packs
Ad hoc
Assist the Group Financial Controller with internal and external audit requirements
Interrogate Navision as required, including ad hoc queries and annual taxation and financial statements schedules
Prepare fuel analysis reports
Manage the reporting & accounting impact of changes to leases
Person specification:
The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and the confidence to build new relationships quickly including working with existing finance team members and with senior members of other departments. The ideal candidate must have demonstrable technical and problem solving skills.
You will:
Have an ACA or ACCA qualification, with at least two years’ PQE
Have excellent communication, numeracy and written skills with an eye for detail
Be happy to work independently without supervision but enjoy being part of a wider team
Be flexible in relation to month-end reporting schedule
Be self-motivated, positive and focused
Be persuasive with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member
Be of a dynamic and energetic nature with a desire to succeed
Location:
There may also be occasional travel to our other UK locations or our French subsidiary.
