Corporate Tax Specialist
Main Responsibilities:
- Working with ABF tax team and external advisors on aspects of tax planning involving the Primark Group including identification of opportunities, developing, recommending & implementing selected projects
- Supporting the wider Primark business by providing advice on matters with tax implications
- Reviewing tax note disclosures in local statutory accounts
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and year end transfer pricing calculations
- Involvement in transfer pricing reviews
- Preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation and reports
- Ensuring proper books and records are held for tax purposes in all jurisdictions and are in accordance with local tax requirements
- Supporting the business with new country entrance
- Supporting the Primark group tax manager with tax audits across all countries
- Liaise with relevant Tax Authorities where necessary and build on good working relationship established by Primark
- Reviewing projects and systems implementation and assessing impact from a tax and transfer pricing perspective
- Working with Treasury to agree appropriate level, timing, and type of funding from tax and legal perspective, in all countries
- Keeping up to date with current tax and regulatory requirements and assessing impact for the Primark business
Education and Training
- Accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent)
- AITI (associate of the Irish Taxation Institute) desirable
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- 5+ years relevant experience (preferably in a retail environment)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) - need to communicate to all levels within the business.
- Strong planning and organisation skills, ability to plan and prioritise work schedule and work within agreed timescales.
- Commercial awareness with ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of wider business factors
- Have strong financial and analytical acumen as well as excellent Project Management and communication skills.
- European language skills an advantage
- Demonstrated initiative with strong work ethic.
- Self-motivated, proactive, ability to ensure tasks are finalised to strict deadlines.
