Management Accountant

Timely and accurate accounting, reporting and budgeting; assisting the Financial Planning & Analysis team in cost control (added value and internal focus mainly, providing information and support to the business)

Client Details

A commercially focused, medium sized business with an international presence, based in offices in the Weybridge area with free parking provided and access via public transport.

Description

The Management Accountant role involves;

• Review / Prepare accruals/prepayments schedules

• Balance sheet reconciliations for Management Accounts for UK & international

• Management Accounts including cashflow reporting

• Cost centre reporting and variance analysis

• Ensure the correct accounting and reporting and provide guidance to organisers

• Ability to identify and investigate unexpected balances

• Assist Financial Planning & Analysis team in understanding unexpected variances

• Support the Financial Planning & Analysis team in the ownership of cost control monitoring, flagging issues and identifying corrective action.

• Support detailed/bottom up budgeting for review by the Finance Business Partners

• Support rolling in-year forecasting for Finance Business Partners (preparation of schedules)

• Provide adhoc analysis to improve business understanding including project reporting

• Ability to communicate and explain finance to non-financial managers assisting Financial Planning & Analysis team in developing supportive relationships with senior admin teams and central office Head of Departments

• Assist with Audit when required (preparation of schedules)

• Assist with completion of year end

Profile

The ideal candidate for the Management Accountant role will be;

• Part qualified / Finalist level CIMA/ACCA/ACA

• Have previous Management Accounting experience

• Experience of month end close and adherence to deadlines

• Experience of variance analysis, investigation and reporting

• Sound understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes

• Business Partnering experience (desirable)
• Supervisory experience (desirable)

• Ability to pick up accounting systems quickly and system knowledge

• Good knowledge of Excel desirable
