A leading Engineering business in the Warrington area is looking for an In-house Tax Assistant Manager to join their growing team. You will assist the Head of Tax in ensuring tax compliance across the spectrum of all UK taxes and ensuring that all tax filing and reporting obligations are met. You will also provide support across various Group tax activities including tax structuring, M&A and reporting.

The client is a leading Engineering business based in the Warrington area. They have a large finance team and a good support network for an ambitious In-house Tax Assistant Manager.
Description
As In-house Tax Assistant Manager: Projects, planning and tax advisory responsibilities include:
- Ongoing support with restructuring projects
- Support on M&A transactions including due diligence
- Managing and liaising directly with external advisors
- Assistance with managing the Group's position for Group relief, interest restriction and loss utilisation
- Assisting with review and maintenance of UK tax strategy
UK Risk, reporting & compliance responsibilities include:
- Preparation of UK CT computations
- Assistance with preparation of UK Budget tax figures
- Calculating and payment of quarterly payments on account and group relief
- Assistance with management of HMRC enquiries into tax returns across all taxes
- Assistance with the monthly posting of tax into management reporting
- Prepare current tax and deferred tax asset/ liability calculations
- Assistance with year-end process including audit queries
- Preparation of tax charges & notes for inclusion in financial statements
- Coordination of R&D and patent box claims
- Advising the business on the tax consequence of overseas contracts
- Ad hoc advice on employments taxes as required
- Ad hoc advice on VAT as required
Profile
- ACA, ATT, CTA or equivalent
- Experience of corporation tax. VAT and payroll taxes awareness preferable but not required
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Experience of liaising with HMRC
- Strong interpersonal skills and be able to build relationships with a variety of people across the business including finance, HR, commercial.
- Proactive, hands-on and motivated
Job Offer
£45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience and the opportunity to work with an industry leading team
