iMultiply are supporting with the appointment of a permanent Head of Finance based in Edinburgh paying of £45,000 with a Not-For-Profit Organisation.

The Role

The position of Head of Finance reports directly to the Board will be responsible for ensuring the financial readiness of the organisation and also providing strategical direction & input. To be considered for this opportunity, ideally you will be a qualified Accountant that has operated at managerial level within finance and exposure to the Not-For-Profit sector would be highly advantageous.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:
  • Providing advice, guidance and strategic direction to the Board & Trustees
  • Maximising financial performance & financial readiness of the organisation
  • Monitoring sector and legislation changes to review the impact on the organisation
  • Managing a small finance team
  • Production and presentation of monthly & Board reporting packs including in-depth variance analysis with ability to challenges discrepancies
  • Preparation of statutory accounts & returns
  • Annual audit preparation including liaising with external auditors
  • Creation and monitoring of a KPI dashboard
  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures & controls
  • Short, medium and long-term forecasting
  • Budget setting and monitoring including ability to challenge variances
  • Overseeing transactional finance - purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and payroll
  • Reviewing systems and software to enhance efficiencies
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:
  • Qualified Accountant, qualified by experience will be considered with relevant practical experience
  • Proven track record of operating as Finance Manager, Head of Finance or Financial Controller
  • Exposure to the Not-For-Profit sector would be highly advantageous
  • Ability to interact, engage and influence senior stakeholders including Board & Trustees
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
