As a national plumbers’ merchant, they ensure their customers can always find what they need, either in one of the over stores or online, they aim to be there when their customers need them. Due to their continued success they now require a Credit Control Team Leader to work from their Cambuslang, Glasgow office. THE ROLE •The Credit Control Team Leaders objective is to support and supervise the credit control team. •The purpose of the role is to maximise cash collection and reduce aged and legal debt. •In addition, to support the business by managing credit limits and being aware of the risk vs reward and deliver advice to team members and colleagues. •You will be working closely with the Credit Manager to achieve set monthly targets •Assist in the preparation of month end reporting •Manage & support the credit control team on a day to day basis •Contact customers to secure funds due/overdue and chasing by telephone/letter •Recording conversations and process followed to provide full audit trail •Manage and set appropriate credit limits within company guidelines •Effective management of customer queries and complaints •Handling payments via the telephone, cash allocation •Liaising with Branch Managers, Regional Directors and Credit Manager •Managing stop and legal lists •Importing overdue balances to the legal team according to timetables •Involved in integrations and acquisition set up and collection of debts As well as having a thorough understanding of all roles within the Credit Control, Credit Administration & Sales Ledger functions you will be required to: •Manage staff levels and support the team in a hands-on capacity •Carry out staff 1:1’s and manage any performance, development and training issues •Contact customers to secure funds due/overdue •Supplying and sharing information with Professional bodies and Solicitors •Credit vetting, Manage & Set appropriate credit limits within company guidelines THE PERSON •The successful Credit Control Team Leader MUST have similar experience •Previous experience of credit control and AR is essential. •Have the ability to keep calm and handle difficult conversations/situations and conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times •Good negotiating skills •Controlling and closing the call •Comfortable with decision making and communicating internally/externally •Good MS Office knowledge •Confident oral communication skills •Good written communication skills •Self -disciplined with strong attention to detail •Self starter, capable of using initiative and good team player •Ability to working in a fast paced, volume driven environment with daily time constraints •Delivering accuracy under pressure and always looking for a better way •Live within a commutable distance to Cambuslang, Glasgow In return they offer great benefits like: •Competitive basic salary •A contributory pension scheme •Buying extra holiday or a brand new car through their salary sacrifice schemes (subject to terms and conditions of your contract) •A fantastic discounted shopping website •A generous staff discount scheme •A range of training and development programmes to help you progress your career Follow us on twitter @ awconsultingltd In respect to the above role(s), Anderson Wright Consulting Ltd operates as an Employment Agency CREDIT CONTROL TEAM LEADER – CAMBUSLANG, GLASGOW – COMPETITIVE BASIC SALARY + EXCELLENT BENEFITS
