Part analysis. Part advisory. Part transactions. Deloitte Real Estate is after a Senior Consultant in Melbourne to support our largest clients with real estate expertise. Are you in?

What will your typical day look like?

Whether it's understanding operating costs and lease value, ensuring an occupied tenancy supports business strategy or benchmarking real estate and facilities management costs, this role is about helping non-real estate clients to address complex issues, reduce costs, and realise value from their leased real estate portfolio.

In terms of the nitty gritty, you will be involved in ample research, lease/contract reviews, and financial analysis to build the real estate strategies that will enable your clients to reach their business goals. You can expect to:

  • Understand how our clients manage their leased real estate and translate corporate objectives into real estate and facility management requirements
  • Conduct research based on real estate, FM or business data to support benchmarking activities
  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative analysis as well as cost modelling
  • Prepare foundational correspondence including reports and presentations
  • Build relationships within the real estate and facilities management industry and internally within Deloitte

About the team

Real estate is the third-largest expense that most occupiers face after people and technology. Managed well, a real estate portfolio can represent a substantial operational and financial asset, critical to the effective delivery of your core business. Managed inefficiently, it rapidly becomes a liability - a major revenue cost, a voracious consumer of capital investment and an illiquid asset that potentially constrains an organisation's ability to respond to fast-changing core business needs.

Our Occupier Advisory team helps organisations to optimise their corporate real estate. We assist clients to design practical property and facilities management-based solutions that deliver business priorities and corporate real estate transformations. We work with some of the largest organisations in the private and public sector on a range of advisory projects requiring an understanding of property, facilities management and business fundamentals.

Enough about us, let's talk about you.

You will have:

  • A university degree or a professional qualification relevant to the property industryor facilities management
  • 2-5 years' experience in real estate or facilities management advisory or, alternatively, in a management consultancy, professional services/advisory role or internal/corporate property experience
  • Solid research, analytical and financial modelling skills
  • An understanding of procurement processes and the management of services related to the maintenance of corporate facilities would be highly regarded (e.g. tendering, analysing service contracts...)

You will be working in a supportive environment where career development and promotion is based on merit, not years of service, with counselling managers who will assist you with career planning and goal setting.
