USA–UT–MidvaleJob ID 2Employment Type Regular Full–TimeCategory Administrative – FinanceOverviewSavage is currently hiring for a Unit Business Analyst at our Service Support Center in Midvale, UT. In this position, you will provide financial and operational leadership for Savage's Pipe Solutions Unit. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze and assist with all financial and accounting issues pertaining to these businesses. This includes being closely involved in the day–to–day operational activities at each work site.ResponsibilitiesFinancial & Operational Support:Assist with financial reporting accuracy and timeliness at the operations level (Revenue and Expense Recognition, Daily Financial reports, Key Performance Indicator reports, monthly Projections and Variance Analysis, etc.)Administer the daily recording and reporting process with the Ft Worth Pipe coordinatorsAcquire comprehensive knowledge of the businesses and the various revenue generating activities linked with themUnderstand the "big picture" as it relates to the financial performance of operationsWork with Business Directors/Managers/Analysts in the Energy and Oilfield Solutions Group to improve Group financial performance and share "Best Practices"Assist with the daily and month–end inventory reconciliation processesProvide analysis to assist operations in identifying and implementing solutions to operating and financial problems; proactively identify opportunities for improved performance and efficienciesBecome an expert on the systems used to control and manage all business functionsWork with the Savage Information Technology group to constantly improve and adjust systems as the needs of the businesses directIdentify and create useful Key Performance Indicators and implement into systemsAnalyze financial effects of operational cost changes and decisions (equipment purchases, employee wages, staffing plans, etc.)Prepare and analyze Financial Projections and Variance report, and adequately communicate results to PSU management and Group LeadershipAssist with annual budgeting efforts for all operations and work with the Unit Business Director to develop annual budgets and business plansOversee the financial controls for all businessesEnsure Managers and Coordinators are receiving proper training on Internal Controls, accounting processes and systemsAssist with implementation of the Savage Operating System (S7)Commercial Support:Monitor rate adjustments to ensure implementation and accuracyAssist with the development of pro forma financial models and develop rates for new business opportunities and recreates of existing businessDevelop a strong understanding of market conditions and the impact on revenue and expenses QualificationsSolid educational background in accounting or finance, MBA or CPA preferredIndustry knowledge helpful but not necessary (i.e. bulk material handling, transportation, refining, logistics, marine, etc...)Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)Creative and strategic in approaching issuesAggressive enough to tackle tough problems and question assumptions, yet in control enough to maintain balance and a good working relationship with othersCapable of developing a team through defining roles, promoting relationships, expressing appreciation and encouragement, providing support and motivationPossess good analytical skills that aid in solving problems in a positive and proactive mannerRelentlessly seeks improvement on an individual and company levelConceptual understanding of accounting controls and practices; experience regarding financial analysis toolsSolid understanding of financial and accounting principles and statements (profit and loss, budgeting, balance sheet, statement of cash flow, etc.)Good planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completionAbility to work with multiple operations, tasks and "bosses"Strong presentation skills, both in an internal company setting and in a customer settingPossesses the highest standards of integrity – Honest in dealings with company, employees, vendors, and customersWorks hard and is highly motivated; self–starter with the ability to work independentlyAnticipates problems and has the ability to bring about creative solutions for all concernedDemonstrates a sense of ownership for problems and responsibilitiesExhibits passion about the work and success of the company, employees, and customersDemonstrates a sense of urgency when dealing with the needs of the company, employees, and customers, has a desire to do the right things for the right reasonsPhysical Requirements:Will work in a professional office setting and will be required to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditionsRequires approximately 10% regular travel to operation locations.
