Credit Controller

We are looking for a confident and experienced Credit Controller to join our client's welcoming finance team in Maghull, Liverpool. This is a demanding but very rewarding role in a friendly department with a friendly team that delivers results.

The role

The credit controller will work closely with other members of the accounts department, the general office and other departments in the business in all credit control activities.

What you need

Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, you must have excellent communication skills and experience of working in a similar role. It is essential for you to have a willingness to learn new skills and be a strong team player with a flexible attitude. It would be useful to have access to your own vehicle in order to make trips to the bank on a rota system although this is not essential. It would also be an advantage to have experience with producing aged debtor reports.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

Telephone, email and write to customers about their accounts with a view to collecting payments
Reconcile customer accounts to resolve any customer queries relating to their accounts
Review customer credit ratings and review credit limits on all active accounts at least annually and more frequently for key accounts.
Set customer credit limits and review orders on hold
Negotiate repayment plans
Recommend write-offs of bad debts and flag any new doubtful debts as soon as possible.
Liaise with Solicitors to collect overdue debts
Other clerical tasks as required
