Based from purpose–built premises near Truro, Cornwall, Lynher Dairies enjoy international recognition within the industry and their products are shipped throughout the UK, and further afield including the United States and Australia.
The Finance Director position has been created to develop robust medium to long term financial strategies while considering the optimisation of growth with efficiency improvements, processes, logistics and wider business commercials. This will be a challenging role to develop, with sole responsibility for all financial tasks to begin with. However, your collaborative approach, commercial acumen, outgoing and engaging people management style and natural enthusiasm for Lynher Dairies' products and ethos will stand you in good stead for the challenges ahead, which ultimately includes the opportunity to assume the commercial relationship with customers and the cost effectiveness of the supply chain.
Working as part of the Executive Team, you will take a key role in creating a clear and viable strategy that considers achievable growth while making improvements to efficiency across the business. You will recommend and take responsibility for forecasts and plans while putting measures into place to ensure delivery of key landmarks and targets across the business.
To support your strategies, you will implement and develop robust systems and processes to provide vital information for further production planning and costings as well as implementing an approach to the business case for all investments. You will prepare management accounts and commentary for analysis by the Executive Team, enabling further discussion, making recommendations as necessary before agreement from the board.
This is a full financial role, from provision of weekly management figures through to taking the full set of end of year accounts to audit standard. In the short term, you will also be responsible for the fundamental admin and bookkeeping allowing you to apply any necessary efficiencies and you will then recruit and manage a part–time person to fulfil these tasks.
Typical qualities that you will likely have include:
Relevant qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Experience in a similar dynamic SME environment
Excellent current technical knowledge including taking a strategic view on costings, systems (finance orientated and other) and process updates, ERP systems and wider IT skills
Hands on and willing to get involved in all elements of the accounting function
Enthusiasm and desire to build a career contributing to the success of the company
