Basic Job Functions:
The Accountant fulfills an integral transactional and reporting function in the Finance Department with a focus on customer service to both internal and external customers. Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Assist with all monthly, quarterly and yearly closings
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures complying with federal, state and local financial legal requirements and Nucor accounting policies
  • General Ledger–maintain select general ledger accounts reconciliations
  • Tax Reporting–process the remitting of monthly sales tax
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing job responsibilities
  • Provide analytical support to other departments as it relates to accounting issues and drive continuous cost improvements across all aspects of the business

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4–year degree in Accounting
  • SAP Experience
  • Experience with foreign entity accounting
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with sales tax reporting and regulations
