The Project Accountant/Finance Business Partner will provide accurate and timely financial analysis, reporting and control of contract related costs to key stakeholders in the wider business. This position is accountable for monitoring the progress of contracts, investigating variances and ensuring that the financial position of contracts is budgeted correctly.

Description
The successful project manager/Finance Business Partner will be responsible for:
- Cash flow investigation and reporting for both income and expenditure
- Monitoring of contract progress to provide pro-active support to the Commercial Director with robust analysis of movements
- Communication of changes in project performance
- Preparation of project report forms for project review meetings and investigation and reporting of variances prior to the meeting
- Control and improvement of discipline of contract cost postings
- Analysis and tracking of project cost variances
- Production of contract financial summary
- Calculation of value at risk & profit earned not recognised
- Order book reporting and management
- Provide financial support and analysis to non finance stakeholders
- Review and feedback of estimating norms
- Maintenance of a high degree of internal control over project costings and accounting
Profile
The Project Accountant/Finance Business Partner will need:
- A fully recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
- A proven track record in a similar position, including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with non finance stakeholders
- Ability to confidently challenge and influence stakeholders of varying levels of seniority
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Proactive approach and the ability to think out side the box
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience of using IT to improve business processes
- Confident and commercially minded
- Hard working and proactive in their approach
