Leading Logistics Business - looking for Finance Manager.
Client Details
Leading Logistics business in Chippenham. They are looking for a Finance Manager who will partner with the Senior operational team. This is a fast paced and commercial role, so candidate will ideally be from a similar background.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be expected to take responsibility for all aspects of the Financial Management and Control for the contract and will work autonomously. You will also have regular travel to customer sites in order to be an integral part of the operation.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure own conduct and behaviours and that of the team are compliant with Health & Safety policies, legislation and guidelines
- Adopt, create and develop financial processes to support the contract team and the customer
- Introduce continuous financial process efficiency / controls through use of excel modelling skills
- Purchase & sales ledger administration and management using Corporate systems
- Balance Sheet management and reconciliations
- To carry out period and year end activities in line with Company requirements
- To prepare internal budgets and forecasts to support business planning activities
- Prepare regular contractual reporting and forecasting for the customer amplifying financial and commercial control of activities
- Preparing, checking and submitting invoices to external customers and internal customers via journal ensuring Aged Debt and Accrued Income is minimised at all times
- Providing support to the General Manager & Contract Managers in preparing reports, presentation and ad-hoc requirements
- Ensuring good compliance in relation to processes and ensuring that the operations have good financial controls
- Preparing the insurance declaration for the relevant sites
- Collation and reporting of non-financial information
- Be committed to continuous development in line with operational needs, constantly striving for increased efficiency, productivity and growth
- Commercial Change control for service and contractual changes ensuring margin protection
Profile
Experience and Qualifications:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant
- Organised and structured with a proactive, flexible and "can do" attitude to resolving issues and challenges
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and an accurate and precise way of working
- Strong excel skills with experience of contract accounting an advantage
- Ability to work as part of a team but also independently and to be able to organise own workload
- The ability to keep calm under pressure
- Experience of working with transactional data and producing meaningful internal and external management information
- Ability to analyse trends and use the data to suggest improvements
