Job Purpose
Lead and manage the delivery of an audit and compliance service to provide assurance to external stakeholders on the effectiveness of governance, risk management and controls across the group including compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Dimensions Training Solutions are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to head this experienced team, the suitable candidate will be accountable for:
* Design and deliver an efficient and quality assured audit service to Dimensions Training Solutions (DTS)
* Champion awareness of audit and its role in the governance of DTS.
* Lead and motivate a team of Audit lead and Audit and Compliance Coordinators to ensure an effective working environment, employee commitment and consistently high performance through mentoring, performance appraisal and staff development.
* Design an audit methodology and annual risk–based plan that meets stakeholder requirements, ensuring appropriate coverage of key business risks and controls including assurance that the income claimed by DTS complies with its funding and contractual obligations.
* Manage and quality assure the work of Audit lead and Audit and Compliance Coordinators, to ensure it is delivered to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.
* As a subject matter expert provide advice and guidance to DTS staff on the evidence requirements to comply with funding / contractual / regulatory obligations and their application across all DTS operations.
* Embed the detection and analysis of fraud indicators into audit testing programmes and support the undertaking of investigations into fraud or other malpractice, as required.
* Make effective use of data analysis tools and techniques to support audit and compliance delivery.
* Design and maintain systems for the accurate recording of audit work and outputs to support effective and timely reporting of audit results, KPI's and staff performance.
* Prepare reports for internal stakeholders, on audit results, analysis and trends to inform risk mitigation.
* Establish credibility and maintain effective relations with external stakeholders including government departments e.g. SFA and DWP.
* Maintain oversight and coordinate the delivery of external audits undertaken by the SFA, DWP and other contracting regulatory bodies, as required.
* As subject matter expert provide advice to the business on risk management and internal control, supporting the development of new business processes and change projects including bids and tender specifications.
* Undertake work, as directed, in connection with risk management, audit, investigations and other project work associated with developing the Audit function.
We require an assertive and diplomatic relationship manager, able to deal with stakeholders at all levels, internal and external. Along with a high degree of technical knowledge of audit theory and processes, demonstrated through a minimum 5 years' experience of internal or external audit at management level, preferably in the funding sector.
