Description
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading a small team in the management and delivery of the close process, including key outputs performed on and offshore for the UK and Group reporting
- Working closely with and providing challenge to other teams & functions
- Balance sheet reporting, analysis, reconciliations and control
- Working closely with the offshore teams to provide support, train and embed new processes
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement
- Query resolution, quality control and governance over outputs
- Supporting new projects and developments in relation to the close process
- Ensuring tasks performed adhere to the SOX control framework
Profile
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Ideally have a large company sector background working in a heavily regulated environment (Financial Services and/or Insurance experience will be advantageous)
- Possess a strong technical Finance skill set, knowledge of SOX controls will be an advantage
- Have a thorough understanding of financial reporting and the close process
- Demonstrate knowledge of financial systems & business platforms (SAP experience will be an advantage)
- Show evidence of strong people management skills
- Possess an excellent level of analytical and problem solving skills
- Have the ability to work at different levels, from detailed reconciliations to senior-level engagement
