Fyte are working with a privately owned company with a £100m turnover who have a vacancy for a Financial Controller the company is going through a period of growth. The role involves overseeing the company's accounting systems including preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets and liaising with the company's auditors in preparing the annual financial statements.

Reporting directly to the CEO the candidate must be an experienced individual capable of managing their own workload to meet the various reporting deadlines of the company's financial performance.

A more detailed breakdown of the Financial Controller, is as follows:-
  • Preparation of annual financial budgets and reporting and monitoring thereon on a monthly basis;
  • Maintaining the Company's accounting records;
  • Supervising the team that utilises Sage software;
  • Preparing of annual statutory financial statements;
  • Overseeing the annual audit process by liaising with external representatives;
  • Establishing and implementing the department's objectives that underpin the overall company financial strategy;
  • Continually review activities within the function ensuring outcomes are in line with Corporate Governance expectations;
  • Defining and regulating company and departmental policies and procedures;
  • Determining the monitoring criteria required for efficient and accurate reporting, ensuring that the internal controls are effective;·
  • Attending and participating at Company Senior Management meetings and other strategic meetings as required;
  • Liaising with third parties in high level negotiations when necessary.

The Financial Controller Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Sage Accounting is essential
  • Accountancy qualification is essential;
  • Educated to A Level/Degree standard;
  • Can demonstrate previous experience in a similar role;
  • First class analytical skills, strong communications and interpersonal skills;
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders within the organisation;
  • Manage pressure and be able to prioritise well and delegate to others where necessary;
  • Strong commercial perspective;
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office, Internet and email.
