While Basketball Operations runs the league's on–court activities, other departments manage relationships with television and digital media partners, develop marketing partnerships with some of the world's most recognizable companies, oversee the licensing of NBA merchandise, and handle a wide range of responsibilities that drive the NBA's success.

Position Summary:

This position will provide financial analysis and support to the Global Content & Media Distribution (GCMD) group, developing an expertise in the League's television and digital businesses. This individual will deliver meaningful analysis on financial performance to assist management with business planning and decision making.

Major Responsibility:

  • Drive annual multi–year budget and quarterly projection process for the League's domestic media business.
  • Manage the finance relationship for NBA Digital venture with Turner Sports
  • Provide deal support for revenue teams including weekly pipeline reporting, creating P&Ls, reviewing and approving deal memos.
  • Collaborate with accounting on billing and revenue recognition processes.
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and key contract renewals.
  • Review monthly subscriber reporting for accuracy and identify trends.
  • Analyze and present monthly results.
  • Communicate key business drivers and insights to budget owners and identify areas of risk and opportunity.
  • Act as primary liaison between GCMD team and finance department (central finance, accounting, treasury, tax).

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong financial modeling/Excel skills and attention to detail are essential
  • Strong teamwork, task prioritization, and problem–solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and add value by applying analytical and business fundamentals
  • Proactive willingness to help and 'go the extra mile'
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus


  • Minimum 5 years' relevant business experience
  • Strong interest in sports and media preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree with some background in Finance or related area required
