Head of Financial Strategy
Robertson Bell Finance are proud to be working in a retained partnership with the College of Policing in their search for a Head of Financial Strategy to be based at their London or Coventry offices with the opportunity for home work. This opportunity is on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract with potential for further extension.
Salary is dependent on location:
London: £61,156 - £70,978
Coventry: £52,693 - £61,147
The College of Policing was established in 2012 as the professional body for everyone who works for the police services across England and Wales. Its purpose is to support everyone working in policing to reduce crime and keep people safe. Working in the finance team within the College offers a unique opportunity to blend the benefits of working in a central government organisation with such important purpose, but one that also has a significant commercial outlook. The Finance team plays a key role in influencing College strategy and facilitating its success. This will only continue to grow in the future, with the continuing need to ensure value for money for the tax payer. This vacancy will play a significant role in this, deputising for the Head of Finance to lead and drive a number of strategic initiatives across the College.
Working as part of a 19 (FTE) finance team and reporting into the Head of Finance, this hands-on leading role takes overall responsibility for developing analysis to identify some of the College’s key strategic challenges and act as finance lead to some of its key strategic initiatives. You will also be tasked with developing innovative solutions through collaboration with colleagues, leading financial preparation of the Colleges spending review submission and ongoing financial planning. This role operates at the forefront of the college building strong relationships with executives and senior management through the provision of strategic financial analysis.
Furthermore, you will lead the College through the implementation of the forthcoming ERP system replacement, in which facilitating the effective implementation of the system through agile working in challenging timeframes will be paramount.
In applying for this position, it is essential that you are a fully qualified (CCAB, CIMA or equivalent) accountant with strong experience in leading and driving forward strategic decisions within a challenging environment. You will have proven experience in communicating complex analysis in a simple and understandable way. You will also have experience within change management and be a key person to influence through change.
