Michael Page Finance are pleased to be working with a Bridgwater based education provider to appoint a Finance Manager / Financial Accountant in to their finance function.

Description

  • Preparation and submission of monthly journals including depreciation, amortisation, prepayments and accruals
  • Preparation of monthly financial accounts including income statements, balance sheet, cash flow and detailed commentary within a strict time frame
  • Preparation of the annual statutory accounts for review by the Head of Finance
  • Collation of all working files, back up documents and all relevant reconciliations relative to the financial statements
  • Cash-flow management including review of actual and projected transactions
  • Maintaining the fixed asset and grant register
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns within deadline and ensure the organisation maximises its recovery of input tax.
  • Review payment requests before passing to the Head of Finance for authorisation
  • Management of a Senior Finance Officer who will be supporting this role
  • Work closely with the Management Accountant to ensure accounts show a true and fair position and that cash-flow forecasts are accurate
  • Provision of ad hoc analysis and support as required by Head of Finance
  • Develop the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of financial accounts service
  • Profile

    The ideal candidate for the Financial Accountant / Finance Manager position:

  • Qualified Accountant or QBE
  • Experience of managing a Fixed Asset and Grants register
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial and statutory accounting requirements
  • Experience of preparing financial statements
  • Excellent Excel Skills
  • Prior experience of staff management
  • Experience of a cash-flow forecasting
  • Have worked in a large and complex organisation
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
  • Evidence of commitment to own Continued Professional Development
  • Possess outstanding communication skills
