The Financial Accountant position is a new role to support the organisation in its future growth. The FA will join an existing team and will have management responsibility for 2 team members. My client is looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive and wants to be part of a developing business.

Description

As Financial Accountant you will be responsible for:

  • Finalising the monthly management accounts and submitting to Group in line with the reporting timetable
  • Preparation of monthly narrative to support accounts submission describing P&L performance, cash movements, order intake, overhead variances and working capital movements

  • Preparation and distribution of Management Accounts pack to Senior Leadership teams

  • Undertaking variance analysis to understand the nature of major over/under spends against budget and/or forecast

  • Co-ordinate weekly cash flow reporting and provide narrative on movements from previous forecast

  • Assist with business planning and reporting including specifically Integrated Business Planning, quarterly forecasts, annual budgets and five-year planning cycles

  • Reconciliation and reporting relating to the weekly cash forecasting and reporting to Group

  • Assist in the implementation of the new ERP system

  • Assist the Financial Controller and Head of Finance on ad hoc project work

Profile

The successful Financial Accountant will:

  • Hold a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Have 2+ years of working in a similar role - strong technical skills and knowledge
  • Experience of working within the manufacturing sector (Ideal)
  • Proven experience of managing junior members of staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Good interpersonal skills to work with the wider Group and other areas of the business
