Tech Operations delivers best in class service quality, enriched capability, agile and stable change, through service data, analytics and service automation.
Operational Tools and Services
Our mission is to deliver enterprise wide tools and services to enable Technology Operations and Development Teams to efficiently maintain and deliver high quality Technology Services at scale and at speed.
This includes a focus on the following Technology services:
- ITSM Tools & Service Catalogue: Ensure end to end tools capabilities are available to support our production processes and to serve our customers.
- Batch Services: Provide job scheduling services and standards for our customers using the Mainframe, Windows and Unix platforms.
- Supportability Services: Understanding the current state of our operational support capabilities and provide roadmaps of uplift to a level acceptable for the application and systems criticality.
- Operational Automation & Self Service: Provide Operational Automation services to ensure effective and consistent management of our production systems.
- Lifecycle management of operational tools: Ensure our core management tools for IT Operations are kept up to date while providing the user experience and functionality required.
What does a 'day in the life' look like
• Ensuring stability, usability and process compliance of the Service Manangement tools landscape
• Works in collaborative teams to build innovative solutions
• Ensuring availability of services, engaging other platform support teams and database network as required to resolve any issues
• Implements a culture within the Tribe and the Chapter, encouraging best practices around reviews, quality and documentation
• Provide ongoing support for platforms as required e.g. problem and incident management
• Creates estimates and continuously reviews demand within the individual Squads/teams
• May create, understand and monitor application metrics
What will be in your toolkit
• You will have solid technical knowledge of BMC Discovery (ADDM).
• Extensive knowledge of the discovery , inventory and mapping functionality of BMC Discovery tool.
• Comprehensive understanding of the BMC application and it’s infrastructure to be able to troubleshoot/triage incidents as they present themselves
• Understanding of data integration between various toolsets
• Understand customer needs to make sound judgments
• Pays attention to the detail and demonstrates problem solving capability to develop and deliver quality solutions
• Mentor squad members on process and technical knowledge for Event Management Systems
